About Wandalands

Rooted in family. Shared with you.

A new chapter, close to the land

After 38 years with the USDA, Jerome Brown retired in December 2019 with a new goal: to build a vineyard and a place for people to gather. Wanda had retired after 33 years in Georgia public schools.

In February 2020, they purchased 6.6 wooded acres in Jackson, Georgia, and began planting pecan trees.

Built by hand. Grown together.

In spring 2021, Jerome, Wanda, their children, and son-in-law planted the vineyard and orchards by hand. Later that year, Jerome and his son Trevaris designed the irrigation lake, which also became the setting for Trevaris’s wedding.

The name behind the farm

Named for Wanda.

The family named Wandalands in honor of Wanda—the mother at the heart of their shared endeavor.

Come see what’s growing

Today, the family’s work continues through the vineyard, orchards, farm store, and opportunities to gather in Jackson.
