Accessibility

Wandalands Vineyard and Orchards, LLC wants everyone to be able to use this website, shop with us, and plan a visit to the farm, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. This statement describes what we do to make that possible and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These are the guidelines most widely used to make websites work for people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time project, and we review new pages and features against these guidelines as they are added.
What we have done
- Every page has a single, descriptive main heading and a logical heading structure so screen-reader users can move through it section by section.
- Text and background colors are chosen to meet WCAG contrast requirements, including button labels on our plum and green backgrounds.
- All menus, buttons, forms, and the checkout can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the element with focus is visibly highlighted.
- Photographs carry written alternative text describing what they show; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Links say where they go (“Plan Your Visit,” “Get Directions”) rather than “click here.”
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are described in text next to the field they relate to.
- Pages reflow for phones and for browser zoom up to 200% without losing content or requiring horizontal scrolling.
- Event dates, times, and admission are written out in full text and are not conveyed by color or images alone.
- Nothing on the site flashes, autoplays with sound, or moves in a way that cannot be paused.
Known limitations
- Third-party services. Payment (WooPayments), maps, event ticketing, and the reCAPTCHA spam check on our forms are provided by other companies. We choose providers that publish their own accessibility commitments, but we cannot change how their tools work. If one of them blocks you, contact us and we will complete your order, registration, or request another way.
- Older content. Some Farm Journal posts and gallery photographs predate this site. We are adding alternative text and correcting heading structure as we come across them.
- Documents and video. Any downloadable documents or embedded video we add in the future will be checked for accessibility before publication, and captions or a text alternative will be provided.
Visiting the farm
Wandalands is a working farm with unpaved paths, grass, gravel, and uneven ground between the store, the orchards, the vineyard, and the pond. Conditions change with the weather and the season. If you or someone in your group uses a wheelchair, walker, or other mobility aid, or has other access needs, please call ahead at (470) 308-1367 so we can tell you what to expect on the day and help you plan your visit. Individual event pages note any event-specific accessibility details, and our Visitor FAQ covers general visiting questions.
Tell us if something isn’t working
If you have trouble using any part of this website, or you would like information from it in a different format, we want to know. Send us a message or call (470) 308-1367 and tell us which page you were on and what happened. We will respond within 5 business days and work with you to provide the information or complete the task you were trying to do.
